So, I've got a new book that I thought I'd go over with you. It's called The Historian. I'm not quite finished with it- it's almost 700 pages long- but so far it's pretty good.
WARNING: This book involves vampires. But don't freak out, I'm not a Twilight twit (no offense to Twilight fan), this book is about Dracula. From a modern point of view, it manages to go over "Vlad the Impaler's" life and, supposed, afterlife.
Plusses:
- Very historically accurate
- Well written
- Interesting (it seems to have that perfect blend of romance, action, and intellect that I love in stories)
- Believable, lovable characters (well, maybe they're a little too perfect sometimes)
Minuses:
- Long... LONG- long, long, long, long
- Drawn out (I guess that goes with LoNg)
- It does this odd thing- hard to explain- where it will go back and forth between two kinds of writing. One moment every other person will be dying or disappearing or threatening to die, and the next it'll be all happy go lucky... Very odd
- Confusing (just a bit)
Well, other than the feeling of impending doom I feel coming from everyother sentence, that's about it. This certainly isn't my most well written post, but it's (finally) something.
